Who Can Play?

Anyone with a mobility-related disability can play wheelchair tennis using any wheelchair to start with. The rules mirror traditional tennis, except players may take two bounces.

Rule Differences

Wheelchair tennis follows standard tennis rules, with one key difference:

players may take two bounces.

For sanctioned play, athletes must have a medically diagnosed mobility-

related disability affecting one or more extremities.

Players develop both tennis skills and wheelchair mobility, making the

sport challenging and rewarding.

The sport builds confidence, connection, strength, and cardiovascular

fitness while making tennis accessible to more people.

It’s a lifelong sport that supports health, independence, and enjoyment.
